Sabian 21" HHX Fierce Ride
SABIAN has designed a new ride cymbal, the 21" HHX Fierce Ride, in collaboration with Jojo Mayer. The cymbal combines raw tone with a semi-dry "tah" stick sound, resulting in a fierce yet controllable ride. The cymbal's dark and mystical tones, great feel, and output control properties have been reverse-engineered from vintage cymbals and shaped into a contemporary concept with increased cut and consistency. The HHX series is known for its "Tone Projection" design, which stirs up more simmering heat and musical dirt than other cymbals, making it more effective at projecting sound. The HHX "Tone Projection" design was created by the SABIAN Vault team.

Designed for the astonishing Jojo Mayer, a complex blend of raw tone and semi-dry "tah" stick sound combine in the SABIAN 21" HHX Fierce Ride. It's a fierce yet controllable ride cymbal. Jojo Mayer: “The dark and mystical tones, great feel and output control properties found in vintage cymbals have been reverse-engineered and shaped into a contemporary concept, with increased cut and consistency. The raw sound is pitched over a broad amplitude covering the low end to above mid-range, while the lighter weight makes this ride highly responsive but very controllable. It’s definitely fierce.” Until HHX, it was impossible to project darkness. But the dark, simmering sound, agitated bite and "Tone Projection" design of HHX makes this series more effective than others. Other cymbals may generate darkness, but HHX stirs up more simmering heat, more musical dirt, more of what drummers want to hear – and projects it. It gets you heard. And felt.
