The MXR Bass Overdrive is an original design that delivers warm, tube-like overdrive. Along with standard Volume, Tone and Drive controls, this pedal features a Clean control so you can blend a pre-set EQ clean signal with the overdrive signal, resulting in sweet burly bass overdrive.it is a unique overdrive circuit designed specifically for bass. By Separating this clean and drive controls for tonal versatility. it is 100% analog circuitry for rich warm tone. It is is powered by one 9 volt battery (remove bottom plate to install), a 9 volt AC Adapter such as the Dunlop ECB003/ECB003EU or a power supply such as the DC Brick™. With Run a cable from your bass to the Bass Overdrive’s Input jack and run another cable from the Bass Overdrive’s Output to your amplifier. • Set all controls to the 12 o’clock position. • Turn the effect on by depressing the FOOTSWITCH. • Rotate the CLEAN control clockwise to increase the blend of preset EQ clean signal or counterclockwise to decrease it. Little box has a simple and effective lay out with tone, volume and drive controls as well as a clean control that is ingeniously equipped with a pre-set EQ curve to bring out the optimal clean signal, which is perfect for blending with your dirty signal. It’s a clever concept from MXR as they’ve realized that a pristine clean signal is not necessarily the best signal to blend with drive. It’s more bottom end friendly han a fuzz and will be spot on for those craving a tube like overdrive. with its ease of use (its idiot proof) and the range of tones you can achieve from this little box it’s about time bass players of the world started waffling endlessly about what their own pedal boards, with the M89 Bass Overdrive certainly being the first name on the team sheet.
